Safety is #1Cannon Sline can give over two million reasons (safety incentive awards) why our safety program has been successful during the past six years. Our innovative practice of incenticizing supervisors and craftsmen for successful job-site safety performance has sent an important message to our people and to the Coatings Industry: Cannon Sline is Serious About Safety! The results have been phenomenal. During the past three years we have cut our incurred losses over a million dollars annually, our OSHA incidents over 300%, and our stand alone employee modification rate to well below 1.0. We are proud of our safety improvement process. The continuous safety process ends and begins each year with our annual Loss Control Seminar. This seminar is held in January when all Cannon Sline field supervisors are brought from across the United States to a central location to experience three intense days of safety training. The seminar begins on Thursday morning and some of the topics covered include basic safety practices, respiratory protection training, confined space training, hazardous material handling, hazardous communication training, first aid training Right to Know training, and lead and arsenic abatement training. |
